No Prayers Needed

Atheist, liberal, irreverent television addict living in the middle of rural Kentucky. TV is my religion. I love politics and pop culture. I watch everything from Rachel Maddow and the Daily Show to Glee and Grey's Anatomy.

I currently hold a degree in Radiography but since the economy currently sucks I can't find a job in that field with no experience, and so I am working as a hotel desk clerk on 3rd shift .

My one and only RL OTP is Lea Michele and Cory Monteith. I don't ship them; I support them.

Politico reports that the changes mean “an average family of four would face an 11 percent cut in monthly benefits after Sept. 1 and, even more important, tighter enforcement of rules would require that households exhaust most of their liquid assets before qualifying for help.“  The Associated Press adds that elegibility changes would knock 3 million people off the program completely.

I wonder what pathetic pittance this will save from the federal budget. Look, you know you’re making a shit move when even the Catholic priests disagree with it:

“The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops slammed the plan in a letter to the House Agriculture Committee saying lawmakers should “protect essential programs that serve poor and hungry people over subsidies that assist large and relatively well-off agricultural enterprises.”

I’m much, much more surprised to see those guys  ^^ acting like Jesus than seeing the Republicans wage another battle in the War on the Poor.
